Only 3 turning up to a good breeze but it was still hard holding a full sail, with only us 3 it took no time in sailing 8 races with nobody getting into trouble. with Ken starting well in the first 4 races allowing him to drop a point after the break, Wayne got into it winning 6th & 7th race and should have won the last race but a gust took him out letting Ken in to with the last race. David was there right behind Wayne. A good day with good company
Anouther nice day with 10 knot breeze, It was nice to see Peter back sailing again. After Ken winning the first 2 races and David and Ken McKernan getting tied up, we took a break and helped Peter get his boat rigged up better. It only took him 1 race to get the felling of his new rig taking 2nd place in 2 races and a 1st in the 7th. Peter had electrical issues in the last race. Wayne was very consistant all day with his new Yellow boat and not having problems seeing his position during the races. Well done Wayne
*-* indercates Tied score
Todays event started with a moment of silence in honor of Bob. With a good breeze but challenging with the eastly heading, Wayne showing how it’s done winning the 1st by a good margin. Ken got caught up among the buoys in the 3rd, at the break there was only 2 points separating the first 4 Skippers. David sailed well keeping a point only in it to take 1st place with Wayne, Ken & Brian Tying for 2nd place, with Wayne taking 2nd with Ken 3rd. It was close racing all day with everyone having a win
It was another day of great sailing with a good breeze. Today we had Bill Hunt joining us for his first event with the DF95 taking it easy feeling his way around the course, also we had the pleasure of Ken McKernan sailing with us who I saw as a good sailor and sailed behind getting a feel of the course taking 2nd spot in 2 races There was a great battle between Wayne, Brian and Ken with Brian sailing at his best and taking 2nd place with Wayne taking honor’s by 1 point and Ken 3rd . A very enjoyable day
It was great to be back on the water with the Dragonflite DF95 and a great day it was. With Terry Priest making up the numbers with Dave Woodcock joining in as a visitor we had 6 skippers, and the breeze was with us. After2 races and Terry getting some assistance it was good to see him taking 4th spot in the 3rd race with Dave Woodcock taking 1st spot. After the break the breeze was everywhere, but it stayed with Ken, In the last race with a 90 second handicap at the end of the sausage leg Ken was in front of the fleet picking up weed, by the time he had cleared his rudder the fleet past him by, But the day was with him finishing the last race with a win. David and Wayne were very consistent with only 1 point separating them.
With 4 willing skippers and the breeze was with us We all started well Wayne having Rig problems in the 1st race David was there to help and it only took Wayne a couple of races to sort himself out then taking the next 3 wins, Ken had sheet line problems, Also Ken Taking Brian out of the 6th race as well as himself. David was consistent all day and ended with tied scores with Wayne. Well done Brian winning the last race. The winners Wayne winning on a count back., David and Ken
With only 3 Skippers and a lovely breeze we had a great day of sailing helping each other with tips on sailing the DF95, We even took a half hour break and finished at 3pm. Thanks for the company guys
We had 3 Skippers plus a visitor making up the first race for the Dragonflite DF95
The 1st race was a learning curve for skippers sailing with the DF95 for the first time, David Jones from Austin Lakes was showing us a few tips after the 1st. We sailed the short course leaving the zoo end out and it worked well, The breeze was up and the gusts were a challenge but we got 8 races in . David was sailing very well only missing top spot by a point
It was close racing with only 3 points between the top 3
